A SAILORS GRAVE
Friday night was a good night to be out in St. Louis, especially if you were down on Locust Street at Drive Agency. The studios walls transformed into a showcase of art by tattoo artists from here and all over the country. Brad Fink brought out some of his old time banners and a few select pieces of vintage tattoo art to give a sense of history and tradition to the event. We even had live tattooing going down by Joe Cumbee from Iron Age Studios here in town. Also we here at MATW had a special limited edition shirt made for the evening, available one night only (see below). Sign up for our newsletter to be sure you know of all events coming up. Thanks to everyone that came out, Drive Agency, Busch Beer and DJ Josh Chapman.

EARTH DAY IN MISSOURI BOTANICAL GARDEN
Spring is here. Though the day started out stormy it cleared off to a perfect blue and became the best day to be outdoors walking around in Saint Louis' Botanical Garden. The garden is often host to a revolving schedule of sculptural artists including the famous glass blower Dale Chihuly last year. I had no idea what was currently being shown and initially and simultaniously was jaw-dropped and bewildered by the current exhibit of work by Niki de Saint Phalle who is showing "40 playful, larger-than-life mosaic sculptures in a rainbow of colors and materials." Click here to find out more about the artist and of course information about the garden. If you are in town, make it a priority to take a couple hours off to stroll through.

MATW NIGHT OUT
Last Wednesday we threw our first Featured Artist bash up at Rue 13, located on Washington St. here in St.Louis.  Mr. Justin Tolentino, the March featured artist, was there in full effect representing his limited featured artist tee!  Of course, MATW was there and represented to the fullest.  A few hundred of guys and girls showed up to dance, drink, hang out, and help us celebrate the featured artist.  We had a booth set up with all our latest tee's for sale and Sean, Josh, and myself were all rockin' some brand new designs that hadn't been released at the time to get those interests peeked, and we think it worked.... thanks to all who came out and had a good time.  Keep an eye peeled for some more events we'll be throwing throughout the Spring and Summer!

PLAN NINE
Me Against The World recently set up a new account with Plan-Nine Skate Shops which is an awesome deal and we're stoked!  Plan-Nine is currently two shops, one in Missouri and one in Illinois and both are owned and operated by BMX rider Casey Otto.  Casey's been unbelievably rad to us since this relationship has started and is constantly brain storming with us on future plans between Plan-Nine and MATW!  His shops are two of the most popular in the St.Louis area and have a great supply of decks, hardware, gear, shoes, and all kinds of clothing.  Brands he has in his shops include Krew, Volcom, Circa, Birdhouse, and of course now, Me Against The World.  If you haven't yet, get over to the St.Peters location in the Mid Rivers Mall or in Fairview Heights, Illinois at the St. Clair Square Mall!  Get in there and tell Casey and the rest of the Plan-Nine crew we said whats up.

INKED MAGAZINE
Not even but a week ago, the four of us in MATW we're made aware of the fact that one of our winter tee's had been spotlighted in the extremely popular, and widely respected, Inked Magazine.  However, there was one slight problem amidst all the excitement.....the magazine credited our "Metallic Crest" tee to the DKNY Jeans Company.  We took this situation with stride, as we always do, and contacted the great people at Inked who immediately responded with several apologies and a plan to correct the small error.  In their next issue we'll be spotlighted again with a small write-up explaining the mistake AND they'll be including our website which is all exciting news for us!  Inked Magazine has also informed us that there very interested in what we're doing and would like to give us some future exposure in their fashion pages.  So, in the long run, being completely misrepresented worked out better in our favor.  At any rate, you won't hear any complaints from us.  Many thanks to Inked Magazine for all their help and support!  With all that being said, get to a newsstand and check out the "Betty Lipstick" edition of Inked Magazine or check it out online at www.inkedmagonline.com and we'll keep you posted on that next edition!
