MATW ROAD TRIP
Andy Northup and I left for a 2 week drive around America. In total we passed through 10 states from St. Louis out to Montana, south to southern Utah and back. Amongst the highlights we saw The Bighorn Mountains, Yellowstone National Park, Bryce Canyon, The Black Hills, The Badlands, Rocky Mountain National Park, The Grand Tetons, Great Salt Lake, Crazy Horse, Capitol Reef and Mount Rushmore. We topped just over 4500 miles. Met a ton of really cool people and stayed in some pretty unbelievable places. Below are some fun shots of MATW gear in front of places along the way, to see more pics from the road click here. - Josh |

SCREWED IN
Everyone must go to the Regional Art Commision here in St. Louis located at 6128 Delmar Blvd. and see this amazing installation by Peat Wollaeger, Bryan Walsh, Justin Tolentino, Chris Sabatino, David Langley, Stan Chisholm and Chris Burch! For a look at the opening show and artist interview click this link, which also includes Peat's new "EYES"... Peat, you're amazing! Also click here for a peek at the mural. Now this does nothing close to the experience of standing there in the midst of it... but hopefully it will be enough to bait you to get there and see it for yourself. Also adjoined to the mural room is another room of individual works by all artists involved. There is something big happening here in STL, and these guys are leading the way ! |

CAN'T STOP CREEPIN' ART SHOW
Thanks to everyone that came out Saturday night to our Can't Stop Creepin' show! If you weren't there you missed a great time! Thanks to The Alley Cat Revue for stealing the show with their girly burlesque! And of course the artists who came through with a really solid body of work. Click here to see a gallery of art from the evening. |

CHICAGO TATTOO CONVENTION
Reps from MATW, Daddyo's Tattoo, Bare Knuckle Irons, Iron Age plus the one and only Gabe Garcia hung out together at the Chicago Tattoo Convention on Navy Pier. We all crammed into a double booth and had a hell of a time. Many late nights and crazy days made for a fast weekend. (Super sausage fest as 9 dudes shared 2 hotel rooms... sorry for the mess Best Western) Thanks Bobby P. for coming and pushing them shirts! Thanks also Baba and Rick from Vintage, Mo Malone and the crew from Olde Soul Tattoo for making it a fun time! |

MIDWEST FLOODS / WISCONSIN
I had a chance to get out of town for a minute and traveled north to Madison, Wisconsin. This has to be the most bike friendly town in all of America, at least the midwest. Everyone was courteous and actually aware and looking out for riders and pedestrians. The city itself was impeccably clean. On the way up and back I saw many towns devestated by floods. I was going around to tattoo shops selling prints and one day of doing this hitting towns between Madison and Milwaukee out of 10 studios I stopped at 8 were closed due to flooding. Some literally with sandbags in front of their doors, hopefully evading the rising water. It's a mess. Makes you feel small. The picture below is from a town called Janesville, Wisconsin. Huge sections of the dowtown were still blocked off due to the river. The last photo is from Black Heart Tattoo in Milwaukee.. What up Andre! Great to meet you all. There was a ton of super cool art and decks on the wall. -Josh |

A SAILORS GRAVE
Friday night was a good night to be out in St. Louis, especially if you were down on Locust Street at Drive Agency. The studios walls transformed into a showcase of art by tattoo artists from here and all over the country. Brad Fink brought out some of his old time banners and a few select pieces of vintage tattoo art to give a sense of history and tradition to the event. We even had live tattooing going down by Joe Cumbee from Iron Age Studios here in town. Also we here at MATW had a special limited edition shirt made for the evening, available one night only (see below). Sign up for our newsletter to be sure you know of all events coming up. Thanks to everyone that came out, Drive Agency, Busch Beer and DJ Josh Chapman. |
